redirection based upon logged in status

    Rank Math free

Prior to installing and activating Rank Math, I had been using a redirection plugin which worked really well and with which I was quite happy. I cannot seem to replicate many of the redirections that I had setup with that plugin because most of them redirected differently based upon the logged in status of the user. I cannot find a way to achieve the same results using the redirections within Rank Math. Can you tell me if there is a way to consider logged in status for redirections within Rank Math?

If there is not a way to achieve this, can you tell me if there is a way I can disable the redirection features within Rank Math and continue using the other plugin I was using previously? When I reactivate the other redirection plugin, I am prompted with a warning (from Rank Math) that I should disable that plugin to prevent conflicts. However, if I do not setup any redirections within Rank Math, will this actually cause any conflicts to run both plugins simultaneously? The most probable conflict with that scenario may be with handling of 404 errors, which I assume both plugins would be trying to do.

    What is your recommendation here?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Rank Math doesn’t manage that kind of redirections since it doesn’t track the user’s status (logged or not). Rank Math redirections are focused on redirections to fix 404 errors and help your website to improve its SEO structure.

However, you can disable Rank Math’s redirection module in Rank Math > Dashboard so you can use the other redirection plugin alongside Rank Math to avoid conflicts.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thank you very much for the prompt response. However, I had already looked for the option to disable Rank Math’s redirections module prior to my posting the ticket. Redirection is not shown under my Rank Math dashboard with the other modules, so I cannot figure out how to disable it. Was this option/ability removed with a recent update, perhaps?

    Hello,

If it’s not showing, you must have chosen to use the Easy Mode. Please follow the steps in this link to switch to Advanced Mode:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/advanced-mode/

Please note that some options are only available when you enable the Advanced Mode in Rank Math.

Once done, the redirection and other modules from Rank Math will show up on the dashboard as well.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Perfect! This resolved my issue. Thank you again for your prompt and knowledgeable service.
