    Hi,

I have just started using Rank math. Trying to set up a redirect using it, but when I try to submit a redirect using “Add Redirect” it goes to example.com/wp-admin/admin-post.php.

    Why is it happening?

    Thanks

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Unfortunately, that type of redirection will not work with our plugin. We currently don’t allow domain redirection. You may need to check this one with your hosting provider and configure this on your website’s .htaccess file instead.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello Jeremy

    Thank you for the reply.

But I have been reading an article at Rank Math where it is suggested to follow the same thing.

    https://rankmath.com/kb/duplicate-without-user-selected-canonical/

That’s what I have been trying to sort out. Can you please explain this?

    thanks

    Hello,

    Apologies for the confusion.

From your screenshots, it seems that you are trying to redirect the WWW version of your site to the non-WWW version. The redirect in the link you have sent is for redirecting your pages to another domain/URL.

In this case, you can follow the steps in this link to achieve that kind of redirect:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-redirect-www-urls-to-non-www/

You can also get in touch with your web host for assistance as they are in a better position to handle these kinds of redirects.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for the reply.

Actually, it was just because Google has indexed http://www.skipperloans.com but I wanted to index https://skipperloans.com and I have been trying to get it indexed through the search console, and it is kept telling me “Duplicate Without User-Selected Canonical”

So that’s why I followed that guide. If you can suggest to me something to resolve this. Although, I have implemented that in.htaccess.

    thanks

    Hello,

    We’re glad that helped.

Redirecting the variation of the website to the preferred variation by following the guide my colleague shared would present the updated URL to Google and the preferred variation URLs would get indexed with time. The non-preferred variation URLs would be dropped.

We also recommend verifying the correct variation (in your case, www or non-www) of your website in your Google Search Console account: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.
