Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please ensure that the option “Strip Category Base” is enabled under Rank Math > General Settings > Links.
Rank Math should automatically redirect the old category URLs to the new ones without the “category” slug.
If that isn’t the case from your end, please try clearing your website cache and check again.
Looking forward to helping you.
That’s not what I meant. That’s for category archives.
I currently have the category in my permalink structure.
Let’s say I had this: https://aminutewithmarnie.com/2022/09/sample-post/
What’s the easiest way to move to this?: https://aminutewithmarnie.com/sample-post/
To be clear – I know how to change the permalink easily enough.
I mean what is the easiest way to redirect to that new permalink without having to do it one-by-one?
Thanks!
Hello,
In this case, if you’re changing your website’s general permalink structure, WordPress should have automatically redirected the URL of your old post to the new one without any extra effort from your side. If for some reason, WordPress doesn’t automatically redirect your old URLs to the new ones, please make use of this regex to redirect year and month permalink to %postname%
:
Source: /([0-9]{4})/([0-9]{2})/(.*)
Type: Regex
Destination: https://yourdomain.com/$3
The old link of yours should now redirect to the new permalink structure.
Let me know if it works on your end.
We are looking forward to helping you with this one.
