This a very strange occurrence since the url remains fully functional to me at the moment of typing. What could be causing multiple 404 errors leading up to the day?

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I would suggest securing and updating your site as the bottom link could be malicious.

I would suggest monitoring your 404 on Advanced Mode.

Here is a link from our KB on how to fix 404 errors:

I hope this resolves your issue.

Hi. Thank you for your response. My site is already up-to-date. And I enabled advanced mode and found this user-agent in minutes:
    Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)MSIE 6.0
Does this mean somebody is faking their user-argent as Internet Explorer 6 on Windows 2000? I don’t think anybody uses legacy computers like that in 2021! What is going on!
There is no 404 error on any other page recently. Only the main site url keeps getting 404 errors everym single day!
You can see that my site works perfectly fine. (Link in the screenshots).. What’s this error then?
BTW, Wordfence is continuously blocking at least login attempt per second as observed from Live Security Traffic option of that plugin.

    Hello,

When you see a 404 on your main domain name, that actually means someone or a bot is also trying to access your website at:
    https://example.com/https://example.com/

If this is the case, there is nothing to be worried about.

    I hope this helps.

    Okay that’s fine then. 🙂
