Rankmath server down? Or why stays all grey today?

    Hello everyone,
    normally in edit post screen we get to see the various tabs to make RM settings (general, advanced, rich snippet, social).
    But today all remains grey, and eg for Title is says “click to enter custom title” (which normally it takes 1 to 1 from the post title) and clicking it doesn’t do anything either.
    Hence why clearly sth is wrong.
    But yesterday it worked.

    Anyone knows the reason?

    The servers are up and working fine. Did you test on some other website or maybe on a local installation?

    No I cannot install locally, site is way too big, and really never needed to, for no plugin.
    So if your RM| server is up, I am wondering what can cause RM to fail suddenly for those tabs but still eg update sitemap exclusion settings etc just fine?
    And our site too works just fine on the frontend.
    Weird huh?
    Anyone else had that issue that General tab stays grey and eg for Title is says “click to enter custom title” but doesn’t do anything on clicking either?

    I am so sorry but it sounds like something’s not right. Could you please try and follow the instructions in this post on WordPress.org and see if you can locate any console errors: https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Your_Browser_to_Diagnose_JavaScript_Errors

    I am pretty confident this is what’s causing the problem.

    Once we have the error from the console, we will be in a better position to help you fix this.

    So I did as you say and we are narrowing it down I think:
    – after I had already tried things like browser restart,
    wp logout and log back in,
    RM plugin deactivation (yes, with your lovely “temporarily only option”)
    and the error in wp edit screen was gone,
    but each time as soon as I reactivated RM, again edit buttons etc were missing, unable to work),
    so I was sure it’s a RM issue in some way (the only plugin that needed deactivation to get everything back up fine)

    Anyways, thanks to your tip now we know: It’s an issue of RM TOGETHER with Firefox browser. Because: In google chrome the error disappears even though RM is activated.

    So then your step 2) Error console: MANY. Not sure what they mean and if they are sensitive, so I allowed myself to use your UNIQUE sensitive data box (seen nowhere else!).
    Pl. can you assess what I should do next to solve this QUICKLY (because I have much bigger issues than learning to use RM) ?

    Sorry for the issue you are facing, but I could not reproduce the issue on my setup. Everything seems to be working fine on Firefox.

    Because else I can only reply the same way you did:

    “If you could share your WP logins” I could look why it does work at your end?


    You’d never gonna share those, so how on earth can you expect I share ours?
    This will NEVER get into my head: No sensible person would ever “share their login details”!

    If you disagree, go ahead and share yours first.

    @everyone: I solved the problem per firefox re-install. Now the error is gone. 🙂
