RankMath SEO on directory of locations site

    Hi,

We’re trying to decide whether to upgrade to Pro and probably will today (Bhanu has given us a time deadline!) But we have a core technical problem and need some advice.

We have a new site where users select a country, state/province or city. Selecting then searches our database and returns a set of listings (tourism information) for the place.

The site has only 22 pages of other stuff, most of it administrative. Conventional SEO for static pages will work okay on the few that need it.

But how do we do SEO for locations, when pages are generated by search? Search result pages don’t seem to leave any footprint for SEO or a sitemap. Do we have to convert to a fixed page for every location?

    Thanks for the help.

    – Eric

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing. It’s great to hear that you’re considering upgrading to Rank Math Pro. It sounds like you have a unique setup with your directory of locations site.

For SEO on dynamically generated pages, such as search result pages, you can use Rank Math’s Local SEO module to optimize your website for local search results. This will help you ensure that your dynamically generated location pages are optimized for search engines.

Rank Math’s Local SEO module allows you to add multiple locations of your business into a separate custom post type, making it simple and manageable to handle dozens of locations. With this feature, you can optimize your website to rank across a range of locations your business caters to.

Additionally, you can use the Local SEO Schema markup to ensure that search engines understand the location-specific information on your site.

If you have any further questions or need assistance with setting up the Local SEO module for your dynamically generated location pages, please feel free to ask.

    I hope this helps!

Thanks for the prompt reply. If you’re a real person, that’s pretty amazing! AI? Not so much.

    We have now purchased Pro.

I thought about the Local SEO module, but each location requires considerable input. We have almost 700 locations already and anticipate thousands. Is Local SEO still a practical solution?

That’s what made me think we had to convert from search result pages to static location pages.

    Thanks for the continued advice.
