RankMath Review Error In v1.0.25 With Classic Editor

#6157
  • Hello Greetings, after updating RankMath to the latest version v1.0.25, i was not able again to add a rating review value of (4.5 or any value with a ‘dot’) This the error message i get is:
Please enter a valid value. The nearest values are 4 and 5

and is this error occurs on using classic editor plugin, but in Gutenberg Editor is working very well by adding ant value with a ‘dot’, it was working before now, in the older version.

here is an example of what i mean in one of my site review.

in the new update i cannot set it like that.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

This is actually expected behavior, field validation works well on the classic editor but does not seem to get triggered on the Gutenberg editor.
I have raised this with our dev team and we will looking into this further and then get back to you.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Ok please your team should fix it, it was working very well on older version…

Hello, I have also encountered a problem after updating the plugin, after pressing edit post, it takes eternity to fully load the editor and when it loads fully I’m unable to make changes as it’s inactive. However, I’m able to edit my post when the plugin is deactivated.
I have installed classic editor and strange enough I’m able to edit again using Gutenberg when the classic editor is inactive.

    What’s causing this conflict?

Please try and create your own ticket topic, and give details of your issues with a screenshot… So that the team will know how to follow you to get it solved…

    I have done that Thanks!

    Hello,

We are extremely sorry about that.

That is actually how it is supposed to work. The decimal rating is for multiple ratings you accept from users.

It doesn’t make much sense that the writer of a post would give something a decimal value. You should use the integer.

Decimals are reserved for multi-user rated items.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

So can users rate on our posts now? Because I can’t see such features on RankMath.

    Hello,

For user rating, you can use a plugin like WordPress Review which is 100% compatible with Rank Math.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.

So i cannot add 4.3 or 4.7 rating anymore with rankmath?

    Hi John,

    Thanks for the follow up.

Yes since Rank Math is only restricted to author reviews. As mentioned earlier the previous version also worked this way but it must have been that the validation error was not displaying on your site for the Gutenberg editor.
For more flexibility on the type of reviews and ratings please install the plugin we recommended earlier.

Let me know if you have additional questions. Thank you.

But WP Reviews Plugin by MyThemeshop, do not support user rating on the free version, and i do not have money to purchase the paid or premium version now sir.

so is there any alternative to user rating that will make the overall rating with rankmath rating to have 4.6 or 4.9 rating?

    HI John,

    Thanks for the response.

The WP Review plugin is worth every penny perhaps you could consider making the purchase in future if you are unable to do that now.
Unfortunately I do not have an alternative plugin that you can use that will guarantee full compatibility with Rank Math. For now, you can make use of the Gutenberg workaround if this is really a huge requirement for your project/site.

I hope this info helps. Thank you.

    Hello,

Wanted to chime in to mention that we are thinking to add a decimal for the reviews.

Please allow us a couple of weeks to come up with an update.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.

ok thanks, that would be grateful… i love that,…
