    Rank Math free

    Hello,

I have been using rankmath for some time but one of the pages, our homepage (liemersxperience.nl) the elementor editor is very slow, so slow that its a pain to use. I have been in contact with Elementor which led me to activate safemode in elementor and the problem was gone. After disabling all plugins and enable them one by one the culprit is rankmath SEO. When i enable it and go to the editor it is so slow. When it is disabled it edits quickly. My hardware shouldnt be an issue as i am using AMD ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB 3600mhz RAM and Nvidea Geforce RTX3070 TI.

The browser i am using is google chrome and i have also tried microsoft edge and opera GX. Cleared cache and browser information and problem with rankmath is still there.

Please instruct me on how to fix rankmath as i have pro and used it to configure SEO etc. It would be a pain to find another plugin to use.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Sure, let us know the username or email for your Rank Math PRO so we can verify it in our system as well.

Regarding the issue, for initial troubleshooting, please check your site’s configuration if there are some PHP values that are too low and that you should increase.

You can get in touch with your web host and ask them to set the following values (if not yet):

    PHP Memory Limit: 512M
    Max input time: 150
    PHP time limit: 120
    PHP max input variables: 1000

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

I use Strato as website host and these are the PHP settings, you can also enable “boost” which they claim speeds up PHP scripts up to 100%, but even with the PHP boost on it keeps being slow to edit with rankmath on.

Here is link to screenshot of strato website: https://i.gyazo.com/0e8f81c2c4412631e570afc0f09bd6dd.png

    Hello,

The issue with the slowdown is caused by the number of focus keywords you have on the page. When you have so many keywords, each time you put a keystroke in place our Analyzer tries to read the content and update the results of all keywords.

The more keywords you have the slower this will be because we need to run the tests for all of them.

Our recommendation is that people keep between 3 to 5 focus keywords because it’s almost impossible to cater to much more than that and it would only be slowing down the website.

More focus keywords don’t necessarily mean greater improvement on the page, as Google doesn’t even care what focus keywords you have on the page and this metric is only used for internal optimization and to run our Content Analysis API.

Hope this helps clarify the situation.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

I have reduced the amount of focused keywords to 6 and it is still running as slow. Next to that, the page “E-chopper huren” also has 12 keywords and it is not slow.

I believe this is not the issue.

    Hello,

The page you mentioned is not getting any slowdowns because the content on the page is much easier to parse from our Content Analysis API than the content of the homepage, so having more keywords there doesn’t slow down the functions that run to test the content and they run much faster.

This all depends on the number of keywords and complexity of the content and how much time it takes to test all keywords with the content of the page.

If you have a lot of custom widgets and moving parts such as carrousels it’s harder for the API to run and can cause these issues.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.
