  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    This is very odd and we would be happy to check this for you. The warnings are getting reported since you have debugging turned on the live site. It is recommended to enable this option on your development site and you can turn it off by changing the following entries in your wp-config.php file:

    define('WP_DEBUG', false);
    define('WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false);
    define('WP_DEBUG_LOG', false );

    Before you do so, please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

    It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

    You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    We really look forward to helping you.

    I’m getting concerned. First WordFence shows a login from Kenya, now it’s showing one from India and I am seeing an alert from WordFence:

    This email was sent from your website “Adrian’s Crazy Life” by the Wordfence plugin.

    Wordfence found the following new issues on “Adrian’s Crazy Life”.

    Alert generated at Thursday 31st of October 2019 at 05:11:18 AM

    See the details of these scan results on your site at: https://adrianscrazylife.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=WordfenceScan

    Critical Problems:

    * Publicly accessible config, backup, or log file found: wp-content/debug.log

    This is making me uneasy – apparently this file is not supposed to be made public. I’ll give it a day or so or I’m just going to move back to Yoast.

    Hi Adrian,

    We have support staff working from all over the world so there is nothing to worry about. Both Kenya and India are our support staff’s.

    1. The error message at the top of your pages is occurring due to an invalid regex redirect in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Redirections. Please remove the invalid regex redirects to get rid of the issue.

    2. That debug.log file is not created by Rank Math. It is a general security issue on your server and it will be there regardless of what SEO plugin you use. I would request you to get in touch with your web hosting provider and ask them to not make it publicly accessible.

    Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    I don’t especially want RankMath to handle my redirections. I have a Redirect plugin all set up with hundreds of redirections and I wasn’t happy when Rank Math shut it off and took over that function without notifying me. My redirects were working just fine before. Can I shut that part of the RankMath function off and turn my other plugin back on?

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

    Yes you can head over to Rank Math > Dashboard and disable the redirections module. You can then activate the redirections plugins that you were using.

    Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    RankMath is still showing the same errors on my site. We’ve been messing around with this for days and I don’t know what to do at this point. I did deactivate the redirect function and activated my other redirection plug in and now it’s giving a scary warning that I may lose my traffic and site ranking for having two SEO plugins active. I need some help fast or I’m going to have to remove RankMath completely and go back to Yoast.

    Hi Adrian,

    Apologies for the delay and the inconvenience.

    I have bumped this up the queue and our developers will be checking this further and get back to you. The redirections plugin will not have a direct imapact on your SEO, this error is likely a false positive since this plugin is not an SEO plugin.

    We appreciate your continued patience. Thank you.

    Hi Adrian,

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

    We have deactivated all your redirections from within Rank Math and now you won’t see the message you have been seeing at the top of your posts.

    When you are showing a notice about keeping more than one SEO plugins active when enabling Redirection plugin – please close that from the top right corner and ignore it.

    Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Hello,

    Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

    If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
