RankMath causing fatal error due to memory allocation

    Hi guys,

This is a major issue for me as it has degraded the site considerably. I have had my hosting provider support and the Thrive Themes support (my page builder) both look into this comprehensively. My host has increased the allocated memory up to 4GB. They also adjusted a number of PHP settings to see if they could rectify the problem.
Thrive Themes managed to isolate the issue – https://share.getcloudapp.com/nOumr9y1
Can you please rectify this asap as it is affecting a production site.
    Thank you
    Ken Walsh

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The problem is arising from using the %seo_description% variable as the default meta description value on the Titles & Meta page. This variable is generated from the meta description and thus this should be used on other areas of your site such as the schema description.
I have replaced this variable with %excerpt% and this seems to have fixed it.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Great guys, thank you so much. I was hoping I wasn’t going to have to get rid of my favorite SEO plugin. I’ll pass along the information to both Thrive Themes and Namecheap in case it arises again.

I believe that may have happened because I was trying to edit the rich snippet and it wouldn’t let me. I opened a ticket about it before this one.

    Please let me know

    Hi Michael,

Yeah, I am still experiencing the rich snippet issue. I open the editor but I cannot select anything or changing any text. It is the same post as was have the issue.

    Thanks
    Ken

PS. I may be offline for a few hours if you find anything

I cannot reproduce any errors while editing the affected post.
