Rank Math Erroring Out When We Try and Run the Plugin

    Good afternoon,

    We are having some major issues with the Rank Math plugin. Yesterday it brought our website down for over 5 hours. We have uninstalled the plugin until a fix can be made.

    Per our tech at WP Engine, the following query is the culprit.

    EXPLAIN SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT(created)) AS days FROM wp_geoy_rank_math_analytics_gsc LIMIT 0, 1 /* From [thriftytraveler.com/wp-admin/] in [/nas/content/live/thriftytravel/wp-content/plugins/seo-by-rank-math/vendor/mythemeshop/wordpress-helpers/src/database/class-query-builder.php:104] */:

    Once we uninstalled the plugin, the website functions as normal.

    Please advise on a fix as we would like to get this back up and running ASAP. I have provided login credentials below.

    Please may you share a staging site login along with the staging site FTP credentials so we can investigate the issue without the risk of craching the live site and be able to recover the site when a crash occurs.

    Hello, thank you for the quick reply.

    We would need to replicate the entire site on staging and we are unsure of how to do that. Using an old version of the site won’t work.

    Do you have a possible fix you would like to test?

    To check the issue, we would need to activate the Rank Math plugin, but as it is breaking your site, we recommend you create a staging website and share its logins and FTP details.

    Hello,

    A quick update. We purchased and installed Rank Math Pro business version and that has seemingly stopped the issue we were experiencing. The plugin is live on our website.

    One thing we did notice is that for some reason, the meta descriptions and image previews are not yet pulling in as expected. The data is in these posts, so is this something that might take a bit of time to update as normal?

    You will no longer need to use the staging environment we set up, but you can login to our WordPress site. You will see the details in the sensitive data section.

    I’ve tried logging in to your site, but it seems that the account was locked out due to the 2FA configuration. Could you please check?

    I’m not quite sure about your concern here. Are you referring to sharing your posts on social media applications like Facebook or Twitter?

    Hello. I have unlocked the account, but you will need to set up 2FA.

    Essentially what is happening is our link previews are not displaying properly. The URL below is an example:

    https://thriftytraveler.com/guides/shoulder-season-travel/

    When this is linked, it isn’t displaying the lead image or the meta description. Oddly enough, this is working via social, but it isn’t working in our internal messaging service Slack, through iMessage, etc., and I worry it will impact Google SERP results.

    Once we go into a post and click “update” it works as normal, but that isn’t really a solution for all the URLs on our site.
