RankMath doesn’t seem to recognise images tagged with alt text. Sometimes they are in a gallery module, sometimes they are by themselves.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Could you please let us know if are you using any page builder to add your images to your content? If so, please let us know what kind of page builder you are using.

Looking forward to helping you with this one.

I use WordPress with the divi theme. It doesn’t recognise them if I add them in the back end as ‘Featured Image’, if they are in the gallery or just as a stand alone image. The latter two I add in the visual builder.

    Hello,

Could you please confirm if you are referring to the Content AI tests? If so, we have a current bug with detecting images in Divi and we released a beta version for this fix.

If this isn’t about the Content AI, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

I don’t believe its in content AI.

We also going to need your website’s admin URL so we can make use of the login username and password you have provided.

    Hello,

I logged into your website’s admin area but I was unable to replicate the issue. The content analysis tests are properly detecting the images present in the content.

Please have a look at the screenshot in the sensitive data section of this ticket for a quick reference.

If you’re facing the issue with a specific post, then please share it’s URL so that we can investigate further.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We checked those pages and with the Divi builder the tests that detect the images are working fine, however, the ones about the focus keyword on the images are failing on the pages you mentioned.

Before trying another step in debugging this, please make sure that the following variables are set on your website so that the tests have time to run properly:

    PHP Memory Limit: 512M
    Max input time: 150
    PHP time limit: 120
    PHP max input variables: 1000

After doing that, please test a post for the missing ALT tag in the images and let us know if that helps.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

I’m not a developer, I don’t know where to put that code. You have permission to add these lines into the site and test it for me. Thanks

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

    Thank you.
