Question about canonical link / duplicate content

    Hello there,

    Firstly, thank you so much for creating and sharing such an amazing plugin. It’s really easy to set up and your documentation is excellent.

    I did have a question regarding duplicate content / canonical links though.

    I noticed recently that I have duplicate content, when it comes to a product on my Woocommerce shop. For example, see links in private field below.

    As you can see, all 4 URLs (and maybe more that I’m not aware of?) are all referring to the exact same product. Ideally, I’d like to be able to set the default link to link #4, because it’s got the keywords I’m trying to rank for on Google. I have tried to research how to resolve this but I couldn’t find anything in your KB.

    I did find an article on Yoast explaining how they provide a feature to set the “primary category”, and I was wondering if you have the same? Or could you kindly explain how do I solve this issue with your plugin?

    Hello,

    Rank Math has a function to choose the primary category as I show you in this screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/pNfMXU

    But I think in your case, the best solution is to set the canonical to one of those URLs, for example as I show you in the screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/B0L4TO

    Thanks very much for your reply.

    Unfortunately, I cannot see the primary category feature as you have suggested even though I have selected multiple categories. https://prnt.sc/tj9xe3

    Your Primary Category seems to pop up dynamically as soon as you select >1 category but mine does not do so.

    I can see the other solution you’ve proposed, but I already have hundreds of products in my store that is affected by this. It will take a lot of time to update every single product.

    I think setting the Primary Category will be easier, but could you advise how do I turn on this feature?

    In your case, you can select the primary category by checking the radio button to the side of the category as shown below:
