  • Hello,

We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing issues with your product category links returning a 404 error after removing the category base. We understand the inconvenience this may cause.

It seems that the old URL structure is not redirecting to the new URL structure as expected. To resolve this issue, you can set up URL redirections using Rank Math to ensure that the old URLs are redirected to the new ones.

You can create a redirect for the old URLs to point to the new URLs using Rank Math’s redirection module. Here’s a guide on how to set up URL redirections using Rank Math: Solving Redirection Issues Using Rank Math SEO Plugin.

If you need further assistance with setting up the redirections, please feel free to reply to this ticket, and we’ll be happy to help.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this issue for you.

    Best regards.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to this issue.

We found an error in the Redirection section of the Rank Math plugin on your site had an error. We later traced it to be due to the absence of redirection tables in your database.

We click the Re-create Missing Database Tables option from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools > Re-create Tables and the plugin can now create those redirections for you.

We reverted the remove category base and reapplied it and now those URLs you shared do not return 404 errors.

Kindly check your site and confirm this fix.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

We tried enabling that option and it seems to be working as you can see in the screenshot below:

The category page is loaded with the parent slugs removed.

This issue could only stem from your site’s caching. Please clear your website caches and flush your WP permalinks by navigating to WP Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks and save the settings without changing anything.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,
