Problems editing snippets in Safari 14

#90723
  • I encounter two problems with Snippet editing in Safari on MacOS.

The first is that when editing the Title (and maybe other fields) if I attempt to insert or replace characters at the beginning of the line, the cursor jumps to the end. Sometimes after 2 or 3 characters, if not after the first character typed. It’s totally maddening.

The second problem is that it if I complete a Snippet and update, it appears to be lost if I come back to look at it or edit it later.

Neither of these problems happens in Chrome on the same site, same Mac.

I’ve seen another similar ticket about Safari problems which mentions caching and private browsing. It is true, the Snippet information sometimes reappears – temporarily – by clearing the cache or private browsing. But it disappears again.

I think the links to cache/private browsing are just distractions. Because I re-iterate. These things don’t happen in Chrome. (And I haven’t had this happen for Rank Math SEO in Elementor, either.)

I hope you can fix it so I can use Safari. Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Could you please update to the latest version we released today and then hard refresh the cache?
    Windows: Ctrl + F5
    Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
    Linux: F5

That should fix the issue you were facing.

We look forward to hearing back from you.
