  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the redirect of media library image links after updating to the latest free version of Rank Math. It seems that the links created in the media library are redirecting to unknown destinations and resulting in errors, forcing you to disable the redirect module to make the links work.

To address this bug, we recommend performing a quick conflict check on your website to identify any conflicts between plugins or themes that might be causing these unexpected redirects. Here’s how you can do it:

    1. Enable Troubleshooting mode in Rank Math.
    2. Disable Rank Math and check if the random redirections are still happening.
    3. If no issues are found, try disabling other plugins one by one to pinpoint the source of the problem.
    4. Check if the redirects persist with your current theme.

Before proceeding with the conflict check, ensure you have a complete backup of your website to restore it if needed. If you are unable to resolve the issue using these steps, please open a support ticket on our community forum at Rank Math Support Forum, and our support team will assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this matter promptly.

    Best regards.

Note: even with the new update 1.0.217, it is still not working

    Hello,

We checked your site and could not replicate this issue, even with the redirection module activated. Please share a link to an attachment that redirects and then ends in an error.

If possible share a screencast showing how to reproduce this issue on your site. You can use a tool like Loom for the screencast.

We look forward to hearing back from you.

    Thanks.

    Thank you for your reply
    To easily replicate the issue
    1. go to dashboard
    2. go to media library
    3. choose any product image
    4. click the permalink placed just under the image title
this will end into error page
now if you disable the redirect module, the link works nicely and if you revert to version 1.0.215.1 then everything is OK and you do not have to disable the module.

    Hello,

You had the option to redirect attachments enabled which was redirecting these attachment pages.

The option can be found under WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > General Settings > Links.

In most cases, we recommend keeping this option enabled as explained in our documentation here: https://rankmath.com/kb/should-you-redirect-attachments/

We have disabled the option on your website so those pages are now loading and you can assess whether or not you want to make the change.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
