Problem with meta description

From a few months ago, the metadescriptions from some of my website pages are shown in Google incomplete and with “…”.
(For example this one from my index: “Si vendes algo en internet, sal de tu cabeza y entra en la de …”, instead of “Si vendes algo en internet, sal de tu cabeza y entra en la de tu cliente potencial. Es rentable, hazme caso. Palabra de copywriter.”)

I checked their length (maximum number of characters and pixels) and everything is fine, but it shows them shortened, as if they were longer.

Do you know where it could be the problem? Other users with the same issue?

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Could you please share the affected URL so we can check?

Meanwhile, here’s a link for more information on why the title/description you have set is not showing on the search results pages:

    Hello,

    Thanks for replying me.

Sure, I have just added my affected url in Sensitive Data.

Yes, I know sometimes Google shows a different metadescription for some websites. But in this case I discarded it because I had the same issue some months ago with another metadescription text (same url).

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I can check that the description is being added correctly by our plugin. You can confirm that using a tool like https://heymeta.com/

I was also able to check that Google has last crawled some of the affected URLs on 4th March. If you have made changes after that then Google hasn’t yet seen them. Please wait for them to crawl your site again and decide to show the correct description.

Hope this helps. Let us know if you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    Good.

No, I didn’t made any changes after 4th March, actually the problem started about 2 months ago.

Well, I’ll wait for them to crawl my site again a see what happens.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

It is a pretty common thing with Google these days. It happens with 70% of the results that even if everything’s fine, Google decides to show a different meta title/description for your search keyword, there is nothing you can do as Google sometimes ignores the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Yes, I know, but it’s not Google showing a different a different meta description, it shows half of my meta description with ellipses at the end.

    Hello,

Please wait for Google to crawl the site again and see if they chose the description set by you to display in the SERPs. If they decide to keep the current description, you will need to modify the description and optimize it more for the search term.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need any other assistance.

    Thanks.
