Hello! We apologize for the issue you are facing with setting up the Instant Index plugin and encountering a 403 error.
If changing the API Key did not resolve the problem, there might be another reason causing the issue. One common cause of a 403 Forbidden error is that the text file containing the API key has not been created automatically due to a plugin conflict.
To further troubleshoot and resolve the 403 Forbidden error with Instant Index, we recommend checking if the API key location is accessible and ensuring it is set up correctly. You can refer to this guide on how to fix the 403 Forbidden error with IndexNow: Fix 403 Forbidden Error with IndexNow.
If the issue persists after following the steps in the guide, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern, and we appreciate your patience.

Hello,
The API key generation is a different process since it is for the IndexNow feature. However, from your screenshot, you are getting the error for Google’s Instant Indexing API.
To fix the issue, please make sure the service account is listed as the Owner of the site in the Search Console.
Please follow the steps illustrated here to solve the issue:

This is one of the most common issues when setting up the Instant Indexing plugin.
If that doesn’t work for you, please remove the plugin, then install and configure it again by following the steps religiously.
Hope that helps.
