Enable Advanced Mode in the Rank Math dashboard:
Then go to Rank Math > Titles & Meta > [Post Type] > Primary Taxonomy > Select Categories.
Once done, you will get the option to select the primary category:

Thanks for your reply. I turned on the advanced mode and the little bubble next to a category appeared. I checked the box to make a category primary and updated the link but the primary category is not showing on my post still.
Also all of the other posts that used to have a primary category no longer have one still.
Please let me know as soon as possible!

Could you please confirm if how would you like to display the primary categories on your posts? Or perhaps are you referring to your breadcrumbs? Please share some screenshots on the area you wish to display the category so we can have a further understanding of what you are trying to achieve.

Hi again. Thanks for the note. I attached two screenshots. For this post, for instance, I’d like to show Desserts as the primary category. Instead it shows “Recipes” as the primary category for all posts, including this one.

We apologize for the unexpected delay.
The display of the category for this label in your screenshot will depend entirely on your theme. You can get in touch with the support of your theme and ask them to make the changes to only show the rank_math_primary_term for the categories in the frontend of your posts.
