  • Hello,

Thanks for getting in touch and I am extremely sorry about the trouble this might have caused.

Your URL does seem to have a noindex tag if you check the page source: https://i.rankmath.com/lIamq2

Please head over to Rank math > Titles & Meta > Categories and ensure the categories are not set to noindex.

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

“Please head over to Rank math > Titles & Meta > Categories and ensure the categories are not set to noindex.”
Yes, as I said, all is with “index”.

    Regards

    Hello,

It seems you have made modifications to your theme which is adding the noindex tag to that category. You can enable a different theme using the troubleshooting mode with Rank math active to confirm this. If you have not any modifications to your theme by your self, please get in touch with your theme provider to unset this.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi,
We use Twentyseventeen theme and no changes have been done on robot META.
In fact, if I deactivate Rankmaths this line disapear :

    <meta name=”robots” content=”follow, noindex”/>

And we have no robot information. If activate plugin meta robots above is again visible.

    Could you check further?
    Thanks

    Hello,

Please check the screencast I have added in the sensitive section and let us know if you can replicate the same on your end.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Hi Michael,

    Thanks.

What I see is when you switch to base twentyseventeen theme Rankmath adds “index” meta and on the child theme it adds “noindex”.

As I said in previous post, when I deactivate rankmath I ha no meta robot written so by default it’s indexed.

Question : why rankmath is adding noindex on child theme? Config is the same for both themes, and I have seen nothing special in the code that could maybe say to rankmath “you have to change index with noindex!” 😀

I explored all tracks but I have no idea where the problem is. What i’m sure: rankmath adds noindex…

Why on this archive page ?

    Thanks for your precious help.

    Hi Jerome,

I am afraid this is an issue with your theme as the noindex is coming even when Yoast is enabled on your website.

Here is a screenshot for reference:

As you can see, the noindex is there even with Yoast enabled. I have disabled Yoast now but feel free to re-enable it to re-confirm.

I am not sure why your theme is adding that when an SEO plugin is enabled but I would recommend contacting the theme provided to find out.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your time.
That’s a bit crazy. I’m the developper of the twentyseventeen child theme and I found no change that could impact META robots on this posts category. ‘Agenda’ is noindex but ‘actualites’ is index…

    I’ll investigate…

    Best regards

    Hello,

    Please look into it.

Rank math will only display the noindex tag if it is added to the page or post, whether through the plugin, theme or WordPress settings.

If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
