    Hi,

I would like to install the Rank Math plugin on my site but I’m getting the following message when in the “Install Plugin” page:

“This plugin does not work with your version of PHP. Learn more about updating PHP.”

The documentation provided does not really answer my questions.

How can I work around this?

    Thanks
    Gregg

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

You would need to ask your hosting provider to update the PHP version on your website to at least PHP8.0 which is the oldest supported version at the moment.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

I have the same issue. I updated my PHP version from 7.4 to 8.0 and it is still throwing the same error.

    Hello,

@Kyle In this case, please ensure that the PHP version is already reflected on your WordPress by heading to Tools > Site Health > Info tab > Server Tab > PHP version.

If it is still not getting cleared even with the PHP version already at PHP8.0, clear your website and any server-level cache for troubleshooting.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

I did as you asked. It says 7.3.33. I cleared all cache plugins and deleted any minified CSS/JS.

I am changing my PHP versions at the cPanel level. Is that where it should be happening?

    Hello,

Yes, you can change the PHP version in your Cpanel area if your hosting provider allows it. If not, then kindly ask your hosting provider to properly update your PHP version.

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.
