Permalink structure doesn’t include category slug in product URLs

    Rank Math does not add or remove the category from the product URL. The Remove category base option removes the category base from the Product category URL. To show category in Product, please change your permalink settings for Product to Shop base with category:
    change permalink settings

    Please stay advised that it is not recommended to change the permalink settings on an established site.

    Hi Pratik,

    Thank you for coming back to me. I have tried with the permalink structure you suggested, and it still doesn’t work. The URL for the product still shows as: mysite.com/product-name, not mysite.com/category/product-name.

    Also, when i hover over the product to see it’s like it shows as: mysite.com//product-name, like there’s a space for the category slug, but it’s no in there?

    If you wish to enable product categories in your URL please make sure to turn off the option to remove base category base.

    Thanks for your reply, I have turned that option off, and it adds ‘product-category’ into the URL, as in those exact words. I want to get the category name showing in the product URL slug.

    With that option turned off, the products are still showing mysite.com/product-name, with no category in, and the categories themselves are showing as mysite.com/product-category/category.

    Where am I going wrong here, or is it something that RankMath just can’t do?

    I would like to end up with the URL’s being:
    http://www.lathamssteeldoors.com.au/shipping-container-doors (where shipping-container-doors is the category)
    and
    http://www.lathamssteeldoors.com.au/shipping-container-doors/container-door (where container-door is the product, but it also has the category in the slug)

    It looks like the Rank Math’s Primary category feature is not working well when the Default Product Category is changed in the WooCommerce Settings. I was able to reproduce the issue and have logged it. Please allow us some time to test and release a fix. It should be added to the plugin in the upcoming update.

    For now, to fix the issue on your site I have updated all 7 Products on your site. When creating a new product, please check the Primary category option in the Product Categories Metabox. I have added a screencast of how to select Primary Category option in the Sensitive Data Section, please go through it.
