I tried to change my permalink structure from /%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ to a simple /%postname%/ structure. But when i do this all my old permalink structure posts have a 404 error. Is there a way to redirect automaticaly the old one to the new one without doing it manually ? Thanks on advance for your time.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I can suggest that you create some regex rules to redirect the URLs to the new pages. Please take a look at the following resource page for more info on this: https://rankmath.com/kb/solving-redirection-issues-using-rank-math-seo/

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

hi, Thanks for the quick reply. I have seen this doc. I saw different mention about the regex rules. But no one fit this specific case. Any idea where i can found a full documentation for my issue ?

    Hi Deret,

    Thanks for the follow up.

Here is a great article that you can make use of for additional guidance on creating regex expressions: link

Please note that this sort of htaccess redirections have a performance implication and are not recommended on large sites.

I hope this info helps. Thank you.
