Pages Indexed but not showing in SERPs

  • Hi

I have recently submitted my site map to Google search Console using Rank Maths site map.

When I search the URLs in Google Search Console it now says they are indexed.

However, the webiste is not showing up in Google. I mean completely invisible when you type in the exact name.

Also the page index summary in google search console is not updated even though when I search the individual URLs it does say they are Indexed.

would it be possible to see if there are any errors and why this is happening?

  • Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding the issue you are facing with your website not showing up in Google search results despite being indexed.

Based on the information you provided, it seems like your website might be experiencing some visibility issues in the search results. Here are a few common reasons why this could be happening:

    1. Content Duplication Issues: Sometimes, Google penalizes websites with duplicate content, which can affect indexing and visibility. You can resolve this by checking for any duplication on your website and adding a canonical URL from these duplicate pages pointing to the original content you want to index. You can find more information on how to change the canonical URL here.

    2. Your Website Is New: If your website is fairly new, it’s normal for some pages to be marked as “discovered – currently not indexed.” Google might take some time to find and index all the pages on your site. In this case, patience is key as Google will eventually index all the pages on your site.

    3. Check If Your Website Is Blocked By Google: It’s essential to ensure that your website is not penalized by Google, which could explain why it’s not being indexed. You can search for your website on Google to check if it has been penalized. If your website is penalized, you’ll need to fix the problem that caused the penalty before Google indexes your site.

If you suspect there might be other underlying issues causing this problem, I recommend checking the following resources for more detailed information:

Now some of the pages are showing in search results but they have the incorrect SEO meta descriptions and no featured images are showing. We set meta description with rank math

Half of our pages and posts are not being indexed. Would really appreciate some support if anyone is available

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

We’ve checked your page and we can see Rank Math is generating the meta description properly. You can also check by using https://rankmath.com/tools/meta-tag-analyzer/ and https://www.heymeta.com/

However, please note that nowadays, Google does that very commonly. Even when everything is fine, Google may choose to display a different meta description or no description for your search query result. Google may skip the custom metadata you have set and instead display something from the page’s content that better matches the search intent.

Regarding the index issue, please share some affected URLs with us so that we can check this further for you.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We understand that you’re concerned about the low ranking of your packing list page for your desired keyword. Just to let you know, Google uses various algorithms to rank pages, and Rank Math doesn’t have any influence over these algorithms. However, Rank Math is a tool that can help you improve your on-page SEO and optimize your content for specific keywords, amongst other things. To rank higher for competitive keywords that other users are targeting, you will need to take additional steps such as link building to increase your website’s authority.

We hope this helps clarify the issue. If you have any other questions or concerns, just let us know.

    Hi

That isn’t actually my concern; I completely understand it’s a new site and, therefore, may not rank high.

I have provided lots of information and screenshots in the sensitive data section. My concern was that non of the featured images are showing and that some URLs that said they were indexed are not actually visible at all in google (not just ranking low). My question was is this normal and can there be a delay from Google search console saying it is indexed to the pages showing in SERPs and the featured images showing? It looks like this may be the case as it seems more pages are becoming visible and more featured images by the day but I just wanted to check there were no errors and this is normal.

    Hello,

    Thank you for clarifying.

Yes, the delay is normal and the best way to check if a page has been indexed is by searching the URL using the site: operator, i.e. site:https://twofrequentflyers.com/west-iceland/.

Also, regarding the featured images – this is displayed by Google algorithmically but there are steps you can follow to improve the chances of your featured image appearing next to your search result URL. Here’s a guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-show-images-in-search-results/.

We hope this helps clarify the issue. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.
