Hello, we had a page ranking on page 1 of Google using the Yoast plugin. We moved to RankMath and now the page cannot be found in Google. It also does not show up as a valid URL in Search Console. Do you know why this would be? (The subject URL is listed in the Sensitive Data block. Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

I have just checked your sitemap and it is loading a blank page with some JS errors reported on the console. This could be affecting the indexing of your pages on Google.
Please perform the steps described on the following resource page to check whether the is related to a plugin conflict:

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

OK, I will give this a try. Can you tell me where / how you looked at my sitemap to see the JS errors? I will use this test the plugin conflicts. Thanks.

    Hi Todd,

    Thanks for the question.

You can view the sitemap file by typing yourdomainname.com/sitemap_index.xml on the browser and it will display the sitemap.

To view the errors, please select the inspect page on the browser and check the JS console.

I hope this info helps. Thank you.

I look on several sitemap evaluation sites and see that the current sitemap is accurate.
Is it really necessary to go through the steps you recommend, or just go back to Yoast?
Like a I said all was good before we changed ranking plugins.
Please help me find a better/quicker solution.
    Thanks.

    Hi Todd,

Thanks a lot for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Could you please let us know which keyword you were ranking for and on which position before changing to Rank Math?

I checked the URL you provided in ahrefs and I don’t see any keywords you have ranked for in the past:
    not ranking

Now, ahrefs.com isn’t the most accurate tool in the world so we need to check your KW manually.

Please provide us with the info so we can check.

Also, how did you check the rankings?

Hi, thanks for your reply. We tweaked the sitemap and URL in Search Console yesterday and today the page shows up in Google! It’s number 9 when using “xyz” and number 29 with a straight search of the keyword. Sorry for the inconvenience. We appreciate your support!
