og:image tag not present in homepage but present in blogs

  • Hello, SEO analysis from Rank Maths shows there are some OG meta tags missing. And as I checked there are no og:image tags in homepage of my website but og:images tags are properly defined for the posts. Then also the link is not able to fetch the featured image when shared on Facebook, Linkedin or twitter.

  • Hello Ketan,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

It looks like you have hotlink protection enabled for your images.

Please contact your web host and get that disabled so that Facebook and other social networks can pull your images correctly.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Hey Todd, I have considered your advice and I turned off the hotlink protection for my website. Now also Facebook and Twitter are not able to pull the OG image.

PS: mix.com is able to pull the featured images for most of the articles for which facebook and twitter cannot.

Can you please let me why this is happening.

    Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.
