Noindex not working for WPLMS units, assignments, questions

    While using Rank Math on our WPLMS (WPLMS from vibe themes) website and while we have set up noindex for all units, assignments, quizzes & authors from rank math dashboard under “Titles & Meta”, the noindex is not reflecting on the page actually. The source code still showing global default of follow, index. Now if we edit each unit individually and under advanced tab of the rank math at bottom of the unit if we set it noindex, then it’s working. But editing each unit and assignments for 1000+ units, it’s very problematic and time consuming. Also for authors, noindex is not working. We have to disable the author archive to work.

    Author noindex is also not working with Studiopress Genesis Famework with breakthrough pro theme. All other things are working fine. Please look into this issue

    Thanks a lot for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

    Please note that the noindex selected in the global settings only takes effect for posts/pages/CPTs you create AFTER choosing that option. For all the old posts, whatever is chosen in the advanced tab is honored. Since “index” is the default option, it is honored and the global setting is ignored in such cases.

    This is actually a better way of handling this since if we didn’t honor individual post tags, having that option in the first place would make no sense.

    For example, suppose you have 8 posts. You want 8 of them indexed and 2 of them noindexed. So, you go into each post and mark two of them noindex while keeping the rest as default “index”. If the global settings took preference and you had select “index” in the global settings – the individual noindex setting would not be honored. I know it sounds confusing but I hope I got the point across.
