    Rank Math free

Hi, as a newbie when setting up my site I followed a you tube video on rank math

I have now noticed that post cataogries, tags and product archive pages are being indexed by Google and I don’t think I want this

How can I fix this with rank math? And how can I fix this with Google already indexing said pages?

    Thank you

  • Hello,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

The first you to do is make sure your the related categories are not set to index. You can check this in Rank math > Titles & Meta > Categories/Tags
(https://i.rankmath.com/dQ2xBo) and also in WordPress Dashboard > Posts > Tags/Categories and check under the advanced tab(https://i.rankmath.com/zqR4Ge)

Second, you should disable the related sitemaps(if enabled) in Rank math > Sitemap Settings > Categories/Sitemaps

Finally, to remove the URLs that are already indexed, you can use Google option to request URL removal as shown here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9689846?hl=en

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

Michael, I’m having the same issue but your screen shots don’t corespond to what I’m seeing. For example I don’t have an “advanced” tab on the posts tag/categories page.

Here is what I’m seeing. https://ibb.co/Lx2YZtX

    Hello,

    Sorry for the delay.

@Sounds Sphere it seems that your Rank Math settings is still on Easy Mode. Could you please go to Rank Math > Dashboard and click Advanced Mode at the upper right corner?

I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
