Can you help, please. I have no traction. I asked Google to crawl my site, I have 0 hits. My site has been up many weeks. Something is VERY wrong. Can you please help. I can not figure out why?

I think RankMath may be blocking something. I have the 404 that google is complaining about.

    Thank you.

  • Hello,

I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with your website’s visibility on Google search results. Thank you for reaching out to us for assistance.

Based on the information you provided, it seems like Google is reporting a “Not found (404)” error for some pages on your site, which is preventing them from being indexed. This error typically occurs when Googlebot encounters pages that return a 404 status code, indicating that the page is not found on the server.

To address this issue and ensure that your pages get indexed properly, you will need to investigate why these pages are returning a 404 error. It’s essential to check if there are any broken links or misconfigured settings that are causing this issue.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve the “Not found (404)” error:

    1. Check for Broken Links: Verify if there are any internal or external links on your site that are leading to non-existent pages. Fix or remove these broken links to prevent the 404 errors.

    2. Inspect Your Robots.txt File: Ensure that your robots.txt file is not blocking Googlebot from accessing important pages on your site. You can use Google’s robots.txt testing tool to check and validate your robots.txt file.

    3. Verify Page URLs: Double-check the URLs of the pages that are returning 404 errors. Make sure that the URLs are correctly formatted and point to existing pages on your site.

If you suspect that Rank Math might be causing any issues, please review your Rank Math settings to ensure that there are no configurations that could lead to pages being blocked or returning 404 errors.

    Hello,

We’ve checked your sitemap and robots.txt, and they are working fine without blocking anything.

You should check your Google Search Console coverage section to determine any issues reported on your URLs that may have prevented your site from being indexed:
    https://support.artlogic.net/hc/en-gb/articles/360016851260-Google-Search-Console-errors-and-coverage-issues

Regarding the 404, you should use the you should use the URL inspection tool of your GSC account to check the image and check the referring page where are they coming from.

Once you know their referring page, you can unlink or update the image URL so Google won’t discover those kinds of URLs.

    Hope that helps.
