My templates (Elementor) Rich snippets

Hello I have a couple of questions regarding the Elementor templates and the rich snippets options.

I’m embedding all my content from templates via shortcodes to main wordpress pages to have more control over content which means of course that the content is just being embedded to the html output and not directly to the page. For example I have h2’s and h3’s with keywords (elementor templates via shortcode) and keywords inserted (wordpress page) via rank math. Rank math seem not to be recognizing the fact that I do have keywords in my content but because is being shortcoded via templates maybe is not reading them.

    1. Is this the right move and at the end when the meta and content is out in the html things will just be in place for robots to index the page and rank?

    2. Should I index my elementor templates or can I add no follow, no index, etc to them which is what I think is right? I don’t want the templates to be found by robots because I want the output on my main wordpress pages to be indexed and not the templates to appear on any sitemap.

Do I make sense and is this the right approach? I just assume that the HTML is indexed when is fully out and that is when the robots do their job.

Thank you very much and keep the good work

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

This is expected behavior when displaying content using Elementor shortcodes on a page. Our content analysis tool is not quite able to analyse this kind of content at the moment but our dev team is working on an API that will fix this by allowing this tool to work across the different page builders. This feature will be available sometime soon.
I do not recommend indexing your page templates too since this might affect your rankings.

I hope this info helps. Thank you.

    Hello Michael,

that’s not a problem, I understand the concept and why it should be like that.

Will the site will be indexed anyways with the keywords and the rich snippets even if I’m embedding content via shortcodes? Assuming that the keywords / descriptions are being added via meta tags in the HTML of the page and the content from the shortcodes the same?

Just making sure I should keep using the shortcodes and don’t have to add the templates contents to all the pages natively. It’ll save me a lot of time.

Thank you so much for the reply and I’ll keep my eyes opened for that API whenever is around for future projects.

As for the templates, I though the same and those are not being indexed from the start.

    Great job guys,

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow up

Yes the content will be indexed as long as you have the page / post listed within the sitemap.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
