My Sitemap is showing error says site map is .HTML

    Hey, i have been using rankmath for more than 3 months now. First it was working fine then i got an error saying your site map is HTML: Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.
    The issue got fixed after i went to the rankmath sitemap general settings and saw it was 200 links per sitemap. I changed the number of links to 300 links per sitemap and the issue was fixed.
    However, now i am getting the issue after a month now. Please help me to fix this issue. I don’t know what i have been doing or what is this issue about.

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    You seem to be using Litespeed cache, please head over to cache plugin > Cache > Exclude and set to exclude your sitemap URLs from caching and purge your site cache then do the following:

    1. Head over to WordPress Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks

    Hit the save button once.

    2. Go to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Sitemap Settings

    Hit the save button once.

    That should fix the issue.

    You can then resubmit your main sitemap in your GSC.

    If the issue persists, please do let us know so we can look at this further.

    sir, i am a beginner and i don’t know much about WordPress. Tho i do understand that you are asking me to exclude my sitemap URLs from caching and i know where to do it but i don’t understand how to do it.
    Since i am using the simple sitemap that only index my all posts, categories and pages. i can see the settings to exclude them but i don’t how to put the URLs there. I am sending the screenshots. please tell me how do i put the URLs to exclude them.
    Do i just have to give all the URLs but it doesn’t make any sense. So, i guess you can only help me.
    The exclude section of the lightspeed plugin has some guidelines to put the URLs on the settings. please view the photos and help me to understand them. or i can make you a ID for my WordPress, you can do it please. Thank you.

    In this field:

    The add the following fields in there, one per line:

    sitemap_index.xml
post-sitemap.xml
page-sitemap.xml
category-sitemap.xml
product-sitemap.xml

    Feel free to add any other sitemaps available in your sitemap_index.xml file.

    Last time i did the same as you have said and it fixed the problem. I resubmitted my sitemap and all of it was working well, until, i have noticed yesterday that the error has again appeared on the search console again. The same error saying Html tag. What do I do?
    Also, let you know that I purged my caches from lightspeed cache and once clicked on the save button on the Rankmath sitemap setting and tried resubmitting my sitemap. Now it is not showing any error to my main sitemap but there is the same error on my Category_sitemap URL. Here is screenshot of the error. What do I do? Why is it causing so many issues? Tell me a permanent solution, please.
