My newest blogpost is missing all images in the sitemap except one

    Hey there,

I switched from yoast to RankMath and now I made a blogpost and it only shows one image in the post-sitemap but there are 13 images in that post. The only image being recognized is a .png.
The blog post from before correctly shows 15 images.
Oddly enough, the new post is based on exactly that older post. I duplicated the older post (for the layout) and then changed the images and the text and published the post.

I don’t understand why images, except one, are recognized in the older post but not in the newer post.

I tried to place another .png but it didn’t show in the post-sitemap either. I tried to place jpgs outside of the wordpress page builder I use (WPBakery), but the sitemap still doesn’t show the images.

The older post was also made with the same page builder, but I think it was made while I was using yoast.

Any ideas how to fix this?
    Thanks.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It could be that your sitemap is in heavy caching. Can you please follow these steps?
    1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
    https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp

    2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/

Let me know how it goes. We are looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you for the help.
    I did everything you asked:
    – flush sitemap cache by changing “link per sitemap”
    – flush rewrite rules by saving permalinks in “permalinks”
    – added the required code to w3 in page cahce, database cache, minification and 404 page
    – added page rule in my cloudflare account like this:
    *myurl.com/sitemap_*
    – readded an image and saved the blog entry.

The sitemap shows the new modification date from a few minutes ago, but still excludes every image except the png.

    Anything else I can do?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the update.

Could you please confirm how are you adding the images to your content? Are you using shortcodes?

However, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/

Thank you, and we really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

Upon inspecting your website, I found that the issue is only with the post that you’ve shared in the sensitive data section.

I cloned your other posts and also added additional images to them and all the images were identified in the sitemap.

I also created a dummy post and added images to it and the sitemap displayed the correct number of images. Further, I duplicated it and added more images, and all the images are identified.

Also, I tried adding images from the image field inside the “My Elements” tab and again, it worked as expected without any issues.

In this case, as the integration was also processed by the developer’s WP Bakery, please get in touch with WP Bakery’s support team as they will be in a better position to tell why the images in that specific post are not getting identified in the sitemap.

Please let us know how that goes.

    Thanks.
