My Google Services isn’t connecting

My Google Services isn’t connecting. In my dropdown list for the Search Console Site field, I see the ‘sc:domain’ before my website URL but there are no other options in the dropdown, and I have the red circle showing there is an error.

I have followed all the advice I could find online for this problem, e.g. removing permissions in Google and adding again, reconnecting, clearing my cache, trying a new browser – I have tried these each multiple times – and still no luck. It’s been about 3 hours now that this has not worked so I don’t know what else to try. Please help.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It seems like you’ve verified your website on Google Search Console by using domain property. Please note that our plugin is only compatible with the URL prefix properties and it doesn’t fully support fetching data from domain properties. Also, the IndexStatus feature doesn’t work with it.

In this case, you can create a URL prefix property by following the steps here: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/#num-1-how-to-add-your-website-to-the-google-search-console

Once done, please try reconnecting your Google account from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and connect the URL-prefix property to fetch the data properly.

Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
I realised that it wasn’t using the proper URL after opening this ticket and managed to get the Search Console Site field showing my website with a green icon yesterday, but the Analysis section underneath is still red and not allowing me to select anything. In the mean time I’ve deactivated the plugin as I’m using a different SEO plugin. If there’s something else I can try to get the Analysis section working I will reactivate and try that fix.
    Thanks

    Hello,

Can you please confirm if you have an active Google Analytics account? You can follow this guideline to create a Google Analytics account for your websites: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/9304153?hl=en

In case, you have a Google Analytics account but on another email address, then you can follow this URL to transfer the property to the same email address: https://support.google.com/google-ads/answer/44500?hl=en

Once done, please try to reconnect your Google account again from WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and see if that works for you.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.
