Hi, Semrush detected that my brand pages (www.villeriina.net/brand/brandname )
    are interpreted as product pages.
How to fix this? I think the schema should be somehow changed.
Brand pages are automatically created, I don’t have a template page for those.
I am using XStore theme and site is multivendor site with Dokan Business.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Google recommends disabling the schema to your product category archives. The Product Schema is only for the actual product, and not for anything else. You can check this link for more information:
    https://developers.google.com/search/docs/data-types/product#guidelines

To fix this issue, you may need to enable the Remove Snippet Data option in Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Product Categories/Brands as that removes the product schema only from your category pages.

Once done, revalidate the error from your Google Search Console account and give Google some time to recrawl your site.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thank you, I have now put Remove snippet -option for Brands and Product categories.
But why is it called Remove snippet if it removes the Schema, not snippet? I would like Google to show the category snippet, the text that is.

I tried the URL inspection for one of the brand pages and Search Console says it is not indexed.
Why would it not be indexed? It is in my sitemap, which has been read by Google.
How to resubmit that kind of page to Google, because it is not a physical page, it is created by woocommerce based on brands.

Could there be a problem with WPML because I use brand-word in URL for both English and other language?

I also now submitted sitemap – should I do that every time I have a new brand?

    Hello,

Thank you for your patience and all the additional details.

snippet and schema are sometimes used interchangeably. Specifically, when referring to Rich snippets which require schema to work. As opposed to SEO title and description snippets which do not require schema.

I tried the URL inspection for one of the brand pages and Search Console says it is not indexed.
Why would it not be indexed?

Please check your GSC coverage report to see if the unindexed brand URL is included somewhere in the report along with a reason why it is not indexed. While the URL is in the sitemap, it may take multiple attempts for Google to index the URL depending on crawl budget.

Could there be a problem with WPML because I use brand-word in URL for both English and other language?

The WPML translations should not affect each other. However, I recommend using a subfolder URL structure for translations to avoid any potential conflicts.

I also now submitted sitemap – should I do that every time I have a new brand?

You do not have to resubmit the sitemap every time there is a new brand. It should be automatically added to the sitemap if it is set up correctly.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

Thank you – this worked! Now it is indexing the brand urls too.
Thank you also for explaining the schema/snippet issue. For me schema is a pattern or like a class – snippet is some implementation.. so that is why I got puzzled with those words.

    closing the ticket solved.
