    I’m trying to understand how multiple locations works.

    It seems that a custom post type is created. Are those posts within the CPT no-indexed? And then we use a block or shortcode on the appropriate location page to insert the info/schema?

    If we’re building locations for service areas (rather than physical), should we embed the block/shortcode for the physical location that services that area?

    The rank_math_locations custom post type is created when multi-location schema is activated. the rank_math_locations post type is set to index by default.

    And then we use a block or shortcode on the appropriate location page to insert the info/schema?

    The location shortcode does not automatically add schema to other pages beyond the default location page.

    If we’re building locations for service areas (rather than physical), should we embed the block/shortcode for the physical location that services that area?

    The Rank Math local business shortcode allows the contact information of a location to be added to any page. If you wish to add the schema multiple pages too, you may need to create schema templates(with Rank Math PRO)

    You may use the location shortcode to add information wherever needed including the service location you gave as an example.
