Multiple WooCommerce Product Categories not accessible

    Hello,

On my WooCommerce shop (see in sensitive data), I have multiple categories that i can’t access – they simply redirect to another URL. In short, my shop is an affiliate website, that shows products, and each time someone clicks on a product, they don’t enter the product page, but are instead redirected to the merchant that actually sells the product (this is intentional). However, the problem is that some of my product categories are not accessible, and datafeedr (the plugin developer which I use for importing product feeds, and creating products on my website) says that i need to “I would make sure your Permalinks for your WooCommerce URLs are properly configured to have unique prefix paths (ie. /product/product-slug and /category/cat-slug )”.

As you can see on my website, I have removed the category base url, which is an option you provide. I am worried that something about my URL setup is causing this problem. I also noted that sometimes i cannot create a product category with the URL i want to use, because wordpress says it already exists, even though it does not. Eg. I had this product category: https://plantpare.dk/jord/plantesaek/oekologisk/
And then i wanted to create this product category in a whole other parent category: https://plantpare.dk/haveplanter/traeer/juletrae/okologisk/
I wanted to call that url /oekologisk/ and not /okologisk/, but i was not able to do that, because the system said it already existed. But the https://plantpare.dk/haveplanter/traeer/juletrae/oekologisk/ does not exist…. So my thought was that it is maybe because the system thinks it exist due to the existence of https://plantpare.dk/jord/plantesaek/oekologisk/ in a whole other parent category?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

The product categories you have shared in the sensitive data section are redirecting to incorrect URLs.

For troubleshooting, please follow our guide here to determine if a redirection in Rank Math is causing this:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/solving-redirection-issues-using-rank-math-seo/#redirection-debug

Regarding the parent category, please note that WordPress itself, by default, does not allow child or parent category URLs with the same name as you have shared.

Even if they are from a different parent category, the child categories should have a unique name or URLs.

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

    Hi again,

I just tried to enable the debugger, and I am not able to handle that redirect (for: https://plantpare.dk/haveplanter/traeer/juletrae/nordmannsgran/).. Please help me out here on what to do: https://imgur.com/a/jVXQvwX

    Hello,

In this case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

We’ve checked your site, and indeed there’s no redirect added in Rank Math.

In this case, please install and activate the WP PHPMyadmin plugin on your site and connect it to your database so we can check the redirect if it exists there.

Meanwhile, the redirect could be also a conflicting result of one of your plugins or active theme.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Here is a video you can follow as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcIWRhcUP2c

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

Let us know how this goes.
