  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

From the first video, please share the affected URLs by clicking the error so we can check and validate them as well.

About the mobile usability, it doesn’t depend on the SEO plugin that you’re using, rather your theme/page builder affects this.

The errors reported in the above test are “Text too small to read” and “Clickable elements too close together”. Both of these points are handled by your theme/page builder.

In this case, you may need to get in touch with your theme developers regarding the issue as they would be in a better position to assist you.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    Hi Reinelle

I’ve solved the mobile issues in the last 2 videos.

As for the errors in the first video, there are hundreds of urls. they are not “submitted urls” though. Most of them are not real urls or are redirects so don’t exist anymore. Why are they still showing up in Google Console? See loom video below:

    Hello,

    Thank you for your patience.

We’ve checked your sitemap, but it is already working fine. Please ensure that you have removed any sitemap in your Google Search Console and submit your main sitemap index only:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/

Also, we have noticed that your /robots.txt contains a crawl delay. To ensure your posts and pages are being submitted and crawled properly, you may follow our default and recommended rules here:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-edit-robots-txt-with-rank-math/#default-rules

Once done, revalidate the issues in your Google Search Console account and give Google some time to recrawl them.

    Hope that helps.

    Hi Nienelle,

Sorry for the long wait. I can confirm I’ve one got 1 sitemap on our analytics. So that should be fine.

However, I cannot edit out robots.txt file in RankMath… so I will reach out to our hosting and see if they can edit it.

If they are unable to, can you edit the robots.txt?

    Thanks, James

My bad… I thought my site map was fine (as everything seemed to be working from RankMath to GSC) however… the page indexing on my search console is showing up LOTS of unindexed pages. From old tags, category pages we no longer use, deleted posts etc… How can I wipe this clean? How do I delete my site map and upload a new one, if it’s pulled automatically from RankMAth?

    Thanks.

Please see loom video to further show with I mean.

Hi, can I have an update on this, please?

    Hello,

Apologies for the delay as this ticket seems to have been stuck in our drafts section for some reason.

From your screencast, it seems that you have a domain property verified in your Google Search Console.

Please verify using the URL prefix and ensure that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTPS with WWW).

You can follow our guide here to create the URL Prefix property:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/#num-1-1-open-google-search-console

The URL-prefix property also helps keep your sitemap in sync with Google Search Console as we submit it automatically for you. In addition, the domain property won’t work correctly on some sections of the Analytics module such as the IndexStatus.

Also, you should only keep one property on Google Search Console and it should match the variation of your website exactly (HTTPS and WWW).

In this case, you may delete any extra properties on GSC as those are not needed and could cause confusion.

Once done, submit your main sitemap index again. This should let Google know your updated sitemaps for your site.

Regarding your robots.txt, please include your sitemap URL in the last part like in our guide shared above.

    Hope that helps.
