    Hi all

I get alot of multilingual pages excluded by google search.. they say it’s “duplicate content” .. I checked and canonical ref as well as link alternate href lang seem to be fine.

    every page is canonical.

every page contains alt href lang links to themselves and all other language versions..

    Why is this still happening?

We have pages in DE, FR and EN and all EN pages are taken into consideration by google but only 5-10% of DE/FR pages are accepted..

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

I’ve checked your site, and it seems that you’re using WPML for your website’s translation.

Could you please install the glue plugin from WPML (if not yet) that helps integrate SEO plugins and then report back if the issue still persists?

    https://wpml.org/compatibility/2021/04/wpml-seo-plugin-better-integration-with-seo-plugins/

Once done, remove all your sitemaps submitted and resubmit your main sitemap only. Then give Google some time to recrawl your site.

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.

thank you so much for your quick reply.

I could install the wpml seo plugin. how can i delete sitemaps? they are virtually created in rankmath i understand and not laying in the server root folder. Thanks for your guide.

i could delete it via google search console. but only by installing wpml seo plugin, the sitemaps do not change right? So when deleting and adding https://fintelligence.ch/sitemap_index.xml again to google search console, I would not expect anything to change? Sitemaps don’t seem to be rebuild in wordpress.

Or would I need to delete them in wordpress and if so, where?

    Hello,

You just need to remove the sitemaps from your GSC account and resubmit your main sitemap so Google can crawl it again.

Wait for Google to recrawl your URLs again and let us know if the issue persists even after that.

    Looking forward to your update.

    Thanks.
