Hi, Google Search Console keeps saying missing url error for logo of my website. I activated Yoast SEO and from this post https://wordpress.org/support/topic/logo-missing-url/#post-15586975 they say it is a bug of Yoast SEO when changing in between Organisation and Person.
Yoast SEO was then deactivated by me on Apr 8 and then Google Rich test showed no problem. Google Search Console shows “pending” for this error since Apr 8 after Yoast SEO deactivated.
As chatted with Bhanu Ahluwalia via email, I activated Rank Math just now. And used Autoptimize to clear the cache (Many Cache plugin not available for GoDaddy). But seems still not working.

Please add a logo for your website at WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Local SEO > Logo

Add URL here as well:

Then, clear your cache and test the page at https://search.google.com/test/rich-results

If the issue persists, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

Hello,

I checked your website and the publisher URL was not being added to the Logos schema. I updated the schema with a code snippet in your theme functions.php file and the Logos schema is being rendered correctly now. I’m not sure why the URL value was not added to your theme but I noticed some old staging site URLs which suggest it happened during transfer to the live site.

Ideally the code snippet should be added to a child theme functions.php file or code snippet plugin

Here’s the snippet for reference:

Thanks. As I dunno coding, I dun understand about the code snippet stuff.
BTW, let me try to understand the picture as below:

1. My understanding

1.1 Issue: the publisher URL was not being added to the Logos schema.
1.1.1 Suspected Cause of the Issue: some old staging site URLs which suggest it happened during transfer to the live site.

1.2 Action Taken: updated the schema with a code snippet in theme functions.php file
1.2.1 Results: the Logos schema is being rendered correctly now.

1.3 Further action for user to take: If user will build a child theme, ideally the code snippet should be added to a child theme functions.php file or code snippet plugin.

Need your help for advice on the following queries:

2. My queries
2.1 Please see if my understanding above looks fine and correct/supplement if there is any.
2.2 Is there any chance the issue “the publisher URL was not being added to the Logos schema” related to the known bug of Yoast SEO for changing in-between Person and Organisation or Qi Theme?
2.3 I have requested Google Search Console to validate the fix just now and it shows the “missing url” error in pending status now. Let’s wait and see or anything else to do?

2.1 Yes, you pretty much understood the previous message of my colleague 🙂

2.2 Rank Math doesn’t make use of any functions from Yoast so any changes from Yoast shouldn’t affect Rank Math.

Currently, we aren’t able to locate what’s causing the disappearance of the publisher URL. The only insight we have is that we found traces of an old staging setup on your website and this might be the cause of the issue as mentioned by my colleague.

2.3 Kindly clear your website cache and re-submit the URL. See if this fixes the issue.

Could you please share a screenshot from your end? Please share a screenshot from both the Google Test Results and Search Console.

I checked it from my end and it seems the Logo is now returning valid after applying the missing URL;

I can check that the Logos Schema is validating fine:

As you can see in your screenshots, the last crawl date is the 4th of May and the validation hasn’t been completed yet. Please wait for the validation to complete and the issue will be resolved after that.

Hello,

To get rid of the Missing Field Image warning, you will have to add a featured image to the page. Once done, the Article Schema will also validate without any warnings.
