Missing canonical url in /page/2 and other pages

    Hi! I’m using woocommerce with rank math seo plugin.
    When i click to a category page (which contain around 100 product) and select the 2th, 3rd, etc.. pages and check the source code i can’t find this code:
    <link rel=”canonical” href=…> code. Is it normal that this code is missing? Is it cause duplication?
    I’ve got another live site with another seo plugin and when i check the source code it shows this in every page:
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://mydomain.com/category/&#8230;./…./page/2/” />
    in the 3rd page:
    <link rel=”canonical” href=”https://mydomain.com/category/&#8230;./…./page/3/” />

    Can you help me please to debug it? 🙂

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    Since those pages are set to be noindex, that is the reason you are not seeing a canonical for those pages. If you want to show on them the canonical, you will need to remove the noindex tag.

    Hi! Thanks for reply. As i checked my categories are set to “index”.
    Can you help me where is this option where i can set index to this pages if its not?

    Hello,

    Yes, you have set your categories as index, it is exactly as you show, don’t worry!

    After checking it, it seems you also have enabled the setting “No-Index paginated pages”, so that is why they are set as no-index.

    I have attached a screencast in the Sensitive Data section showing you how you can modify it on your website.

    Hi! Thanks for your reply. I set it up as I saw in the video, then checked the source code but couldn’t find the canonical URL.
    Btw which is better in SEO? “Noindex Paginated Pages” set on or off?

    Hello

    Since yours is a category page that is getting paginated, this is noindexed by the option to noindex archive subpages:

    I disabled this option and now your category subpages are noindexed.

    It is usually recommended to noindex the paginated pages but that is not mandatory and if you wish to index all your archive pages and subpages, you can leave the noindex option disabled.
