    Hi

I have a website that is now located on different CMS
I am making a brand new design in WP for the website, but I am wondering about SEO structure, now that the site has very good structure on one keyword but URL structure is not good for some reasons site is using language /hr/, the issue is that with old website design I don’t see more language only default one.

My second issue is better to add RankMath plugin on the Live site after I transfer from my demo website (standing – demo.mydomain.com)? or is better to add on demo site and set up all plugin and after I transfer I Rank Match will only change URL?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention.

I’m not quite sure whether I fully understand your first question. But I’ll do my best, and please let me know if I misunderstood.

Do you mean that your old site doesn’t support multilanguage? If so, in WordPress, you can set up that easily with Multilingual plugins like WPML or TranslatePress which are already compatible with Rank Math.

For your second concern, you can use Rank Math on your staging site (subdomain) setup. All the settings and configurations you have set will also be updated when you push your site to live.

One thing you’ll need to update would be the redirections (if you have set any).

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Hi Reinelle

For my first question, I mean that I don’t want to use multilanguage on my brand new WP.
For me is issue on old design is not on WordPress? I build my redesign on WP? so my questions will that affect SEO if is not the same CMS?

The second issue how can I redirect all my old pages? because on brand new WP I will not use the same pages? what is the best way to see all pages on an old design and redirect with Rank Math? Pls take a look on my domain what I provide in “Sensitive Data” pls check with “Default important keyword” you will see that structure, I need a way to not break that structure with redirect settings

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up, and apologies for the delay.

Switching platforms can have some SEO impact, especially if you change the structure of permalinks and such. Here’s a guide that can help you for moving your site to WordPress CMS:

what is the best way to see all pages on an old design and redirect with Rank Math?

I would suggest getting in touch with your web host to see all your pages for your old site since they are built with a different CMS. Then, you can use the redirections module from Rank Math to redirect the old page’s URL to the new permalink structure. Here’s a link for your reference:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/setting-up-redirections/

Also, Google does not honor Meta Keywords for quite a long now so we never added them to the plugin. You can read more about that here:
    https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2009/09/google-does-not-use-keywords-meta-tag.html

To add your keywords, you can follow the steps in this link:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/seo-meta-tags/

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

    Two more questions

    1. If I dont like ranking for my brand company, how can I improve it?

    2. I see in a lot of cases cant get my site with substructure like this:

    Compnay name
    Some text

      About us Learn more
      Some text Some text

      What we do? Contact
      Some text Some text

Can you recommended how can make it like the above?

    Hello,

Please note that ranking on Google depends on so much more than just your on-page optimization. You could have the perfect article and still struggle to break the top 10 in SERPs. Here are some of the factors Google considers when ranking you:

    1. Your website’s authority
    2. Your content’s quality and how better it is than the other article currently ranking.
    3. How competitive the keyword is.
    4. How many backlinks you have and if they are better than what the other guys ranking for that keyword have.
    5. Your website’s crawlability.
    6. Frequency of new content and content updates.
    7. So much more that there is a dedicated blog post on it by Brian Dean
    https://backlinko.com/google-ranking-factors

I would recommend that you keep at it and work on acquiring more links to break into the top SERPs.

For your second question, it seems that you’re referring to Google Sitelinks. Google Sitelinks aren’t something that you can enable, activate, or opt-in for. It is up to Google to enable them for a website which they think is authoritative for a given query. There is no specific setting or Schema to instruct Google to display links in Sitelinks.

Here’s our guide on how you can achieve Google Sitelinks for your website:

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

I see on the old design that google enables Sitelinks.
What will happen when I transfer a site from the old design (other CMS) to a brand new design on WP? Will google replace that old Sitelinks with a new page structure URL?
Because my plan is to add a new structure of URL and remove some pages on the old design? I will also redirect old pages to the homepage or some other specific page?

    Hello,

Thank you for sharing additional information.

If you transfer your website from an old platform/design to a new WP platform then your SEO could get affected.
Therefore, when your website will get crawled with a new website structure and links, then you can see about the results.

However, for old site links, yes you can use the redirection feature of Rank Math and set up accordingly.

    Please refer to this guide:

We hope that helps. Please let us know if you need help with anything else.

    Thank you for the information,

I see one strange issue on my all sites, for some reason, When I don’t update the SEO plugin or any other plugin on WP I see that google enables Sitelinks? on the website that I update every time plugins and SEO plugin I see that Google doesn’t enable SiteLinks on google search? is that true? or is that because for some other reasons?

    Hello,

Thank you for the follow-up, and apologies for the delay.

Updating SEO plugins or your other plugins doesn’t really concern how you can activate the Sitelinks for your sites.

Getting the Sitelinks is an automatic process. Basically, you just have to have enough authority and backlinks for Google to deem your website worthy of those Sitelinks. For more information, you can read our guide in this link below specifically in the How to Generate Google Sitelinks for Your Website section:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-sitelinks/

I hope that helps. Thank you, and please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime if you need further assistance with anything else.

Ok, thank you for the info…
My next question: What is the best way to find all links to redirect with RankMath in new website?

    Prabhat

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

I’m not sure whether I fully understand the question. But I’ll do my best and please let me know if I misunderstood!

Could you please confirm whether you’re referring towards creating redirections from your previous website to the new one using Rank Math? If yes, then Rank Math is only supported on WordPress.

If your previous website is not built on WordPress, then you won’t be able to redirect using Rank Math.

However, if your previous CMS has a redirection tool, then you can use that or you can even use .htaccess redirections to redirect all your URLs to the new website.

Here’s an article regarding .htaccess redirections: https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/215747748-How-can-I-redirect-and-rewrite-my-URLs-with-an-htaccess-file-

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.

If I want to redirect some specific site from an old website (non WordPress) how can I do it?
With rank math I cant redirect a specific old URL to a new URL?

    Prabhat
    Rank Math agency

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.

As mentioned in my previous reply, if your previous CMS has a redirection tool, then you can use it or you can redirect the URLs using .htaccess redirections.

You can easily redirect a URL to a new URL using Rank Math, but since Rank Math is only supported on WordPress and your previous website is not on WordPress, Rank Math doesn’t seem to be an option here.

I suggest you get in touch with your hosting provider, as they would be in a better position to assist you.

    Hope this helps.

    Thank you.
