Meta tags appearing horizontal or vertical in HTML

I’m new to RankMath and giving it proper try after hearing good things. I noticed that the meta tags eg: <meta name=”description” etc etc appear horizontally text to each other in my site’s html. Many sites have this meta tags listed vertically, I’m more used to that.

My question is, is this my themes way of presenting the meta tags? Or is it RankMaths? Are there any SEO best practices with how the meta tags are presented? Horizontally lists/vertically listed? Anything else?

    Thanks!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support.

Usually, caching/performance optimization plugins minify the HTML/source of the website removing all the unwanted line breaks/spaces in the source.

This improves the performance and loading time of the website and thus is a bit helpful.

There are no best practices for this as search engines can easily understand minified as well as non-minified versions of the website. However, as minifying helps in the loading time, this might be a slightly better approach.

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the info. So to confirm ‘Usually, caching/performance optimization plugins minify the HTML/source of the website removing all the unwanted line breaks/spaces in the source‘ means the meta tags are horizontally on the page (not vertical) right? Cheers 🙂

    Hello,

Yes, if the HTML is minified, the meta tags are added horizontally.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
