Allow me to correct your statement, we don’t say that Google does not use keywords but rather search engines do not use the <meta name=”keyword”> tag to check the keywords that the post is ranking for. Google’s algorithm will now check for things such as the keyword density with the post content.
Please note that you can enable the keyword meta tag on your pages by adding the following code to your theme’s functions.php file:

* Add <meta name="keywords" content="focus keywords">.
*/
add_filter( 'rank_math/frontend/show_keywords', '__return_true');

Most of the popular SEO plugins do not add this tag as well including Yoast since it has been deprecated for several years now. Please take a look at the following article for more info on this:
