Meta description showing shortcodes in serps

    Hi,
    I really like rankmath but ran into issue today.

    Website that I am using rankmath on shows shortcodes and code on the meta description of search results!? Not normal text from the page as it should. I am using default settings that come out of the box with rankmath. I have not set custom meta titles and descriptions because havent had time for that yet.
    Im using divi theme as you might tell from the search result.

    You can go and see by yourself just search for site:tafgym.fi
    So is the automatic meta description text adding broken? Should I not use it and set custom meta desc for every page manually?

    Also google search console is complaining that it is “indexed but blocked by robots.txt”.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the access.

    I would suggest that you manually set the some custom meta titles and descriptions because by default the meta description will be gotten from the %excerpt% variable. You can choose any set of variables from the dropdown to have the value appear on the SERP.

    As for your other question, this is a warning and should not be any cause for panic. The notice shows that your page has been indexed even though it was blocked by the robots.txt file. Can you please share a screenshot of the page referenced?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the follow up.

    This issue is a bit unexpected since no pages have been blocked on your robots.txt file. I have however resubmited your your sitemap for Google to crawl your site and thus you can ignore this warning at this time.

    Hi, I appriciate the help and support.
    What I don’t appriciate that you went and deleted all content on one of the pages!!

    Luckily It was easy to recover from version history. Next time please don’t touch the page content!

    Left/red is previous version with all content and on the right was current version updated by you (rankmathSupport).
