In the RankMath SEO settings on each page it clearly says: “This is what will appear as the description when this post shows up in the search results.” yet SEMrush and ScreamingFrog and SEOQuake are all reporting that the Meta Descriptions are missing
I see this when editing the SEO on each page:
Note: I am NOT adding content to the description field because it clearly says “This is what will appear as the description when this post shows up in the search results.”
I already checked the settings per this page: https://rankmath.com/kb/different-meta-title-and-description/
What am I missing?

Can you please confirm that you have added your meta description in your post/page editor?
Here is how you can change the SEO Meta Meta Description with the help of Rank Math:
Add a Meta Description in Classic Editor:
Add description in Gutenberg:
You can also use
%excerpt%in the description field so that Rank Math can generate a meta description from your content automatically.

Once you have saved the page/post, you can then confirm if your meta description is properly set up in the page source:
