Hello
I want the meta description to go through me only in downloads and not in all posts. Is it possible?
Here is my website https://smarter.co.il/

Hello,
Thanks for contacting us.
I’m not sure whether I fully understand the question. But I’ll do my best–and please let me know if I misunderstood!
Since Downloads is a CPT on your website, you can manage the meta description settings for it individually. If you want to set a different meta description for the Downloads, then you can set it from your WordPress admin area > Rank Math > Titles & Meta > Downloads.
Please have a look at the screencast available in the sensitive data section of this ticket.
Also, even if you’ve set the global meta settings for your posts/downloads, you can always change it from the post editor window. The meta description set from the post editor window has more preference than that of the global settings.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.
How do I set it to pull the first break of the download?
Hello,
Thanks for getting back to us.
I’m not sure whether I fully understand the question. Could you please describe what you intend to do?
Looking forward to helping you.
Thanks.
There are actually the pages of the posts as you showed in the video
And there are the pages of the downloads as you have seen.
I want when I insert a new download page, I want the meta description to be from the first paragraph of the download pageHello,
Thanks for the explanation.
When I visited your website, I noticed that you’ve set the value of meta description of Downloads as
%excerpt%. That variable will automatically get the first 160 characters from your content (first paragraph).Could you please confirm if that is what you want?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.
I understand what you’re saying. But here for example take a look at this page I have attached.
There are thousands more such pages that do not have a descriptionHere is all the pages that have no meta description

Thank you for getting back to us,
Upon checking your links here I have noticed that most of them are taxonomies.
You seem to have set them to use the variable%term_description%which should be the correct one for normal WP taxonomies as for the%excerpt%variable you can also use it once the TinyMYC editor is enabled within the taxonomy. Please note that by using the term description variable you need to have inserted your description content for that specific taxonomy here: https://i.rankmath.com/I9cMEy
By doing so you can go view the meta description in the page source as shown in this screenshot: https://i.rankmath.com/kqFto3.
Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.
Hey
I still can not solve the problem
I did what you said and crawled the site again and now the situation seems to be even worse
Will you be able to make the change the right way?
ThanksHello,
Thanks for your reply.
I checked the source of some of the taxonomies that you shared in your previous reply, but I’m still unable to find the Meta Description tag. Please have a look at this screenshot for a quick reference: https://i.rankmath.com/zYLeSd
Could you please confirm whether you’ve set the description for these taxonomies as suggested by my colleague in his reply?
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you.
That’s what I’m saying. That I’m not sure I did it well.
That’s why I gave you permissions to the site so you can make sure that and if it’s not correct then I guess you’ll know what to choose there.
Because I’m not sure I did it the right way.Hello,
Thanks for the reply.
I logged into your website’s admin area and upon inspecting, I found that the description box in the category/tag was not filled. I filled the category description and the Meta Description tag appeared in the page’s source without any issues.
Please have a look at the screencast available in the sensitive data section of this ticket.
As you’re using the
%term_description%variable for the meta description of taxonomies, you can fill in the description of all the taxonomies that are missing them, to populate the Meta Description tag in the page’s source.Hope this helps.
Thank you.
