    I have a site that I haven’t worked on for some time. I was using Google XML Sitemaps, and Mailchimp was sending out auto notifications on updates and that always worked well. Of course nothing was sent out for a long time as site wasn’t being updated.

    I have now been working on it and have have installed RankMath and am creating content. At the same time I deactivated my other sitemap plugin and activated the one in Rankmath.

    However, my mailchimp campaign has not worked since adding new content. I even created a new campaign in Mailchimp in case it was that, but still nothing.

    Looking at the url that RankMath gives for the sitemap index, the latest posts are of course all showing. But MailChimp doesn’t like that sitemap and only finds [mysite]/feed/ and when I look at that the posts only very old ones

    Hello,

    Mailchimp seems to use feed URLs instead of sitemap URLs to sent new posts notifications. The URL you have shared is your site feed URL. If you wish to change the feed URL used by Mail chimp, you will need to change your campaign settings and specify a different campaign type.     You have misundstood my problem, and I probably misunderstand feed.

    I actually supplied BOTH links, one to the sitemap produced by rankmath and the other to the feed which, as I said, is required by Mailchimp. The article you linked to merely says the same as I have done to create the mailing campaign

    As I mentioned in my OP, the feed is not up to date. I had thought that the sitemap somehow updated it?

    So, am I right in thinking that you are saying the feed is nothing to do with the xml sitemap being update?

    Hello,

    Yes, you are right, sitemap has nothing to do about updating the feed. Usually, the feed is updated by WordPress itself unless you are using another feed plugin or you have disabled it with some performance plugin, but it is never updated by the sitemap.

    Not sure what the problem is then, but could the cache on RankMath affect the feed not updating?

    Hello,

    Rank math cache is only meant to cache Rank math sitemap URLs. If you feel like it is affecting your perfomance, you can use this filter: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#enable-disable-sitemap-cache

    change the code to return false then add the filter to your theme functions.php. That will disable any caching created by Rank math for sitemaps
