Links disappearing when I update post

I am using the Elegant Themes Extra Theme with the Divi builder. The link count has been correct up until recently and now when I update my post, the internal/external link counter is showing zero links despite them still being there in the exact same text modules they were always in. Any reasons for this?

  • Hello,

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

Ok, I have input the details so hopefully those work.

I am specifically talking about the “Best Youtube Channels for…” series of posts, each which link to each other and also they have between 3-10 external links per page. I have left one “Drones” page alone so you can see it still shows the links correclty. All the other pages have been reset to zero after I edited and updated them, but the links are still working when I view the pages.

    Thanks for your time 🙂

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I just checked the site and I’m not able to locate the issue on the posts. The URL counter seems to be working just fine. Kindly explain to me from which page are you missing the URL count?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

See the above link which is a screenshot on the backend of the website.

The top 3 posts in the screenshot all show 0 links underneath the SEO score in the far right column.

The 4th post which I haven’t updated yet shows all the internal and external links (5, 7 and 1)

The 5th post isn’t showing the internal links, for some reason is still showing the external links?

All these posts point to each other so in theory they should all have roughly the same amount of “internal links” and different amounts of “external links” depending on the content.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It is likely that this issue is stemming from a conflict with one of your installed plugins since the counted links are not affected when you publish the post while in the troubleshooting mode.
You can test this yourself with the troubleshooting plugin. Please perform these steps to isolate the culprit: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

I didn’t go through all my plugins, I have figured it out though. It seems that between Elegant Themes two premium themes: Divi and Extra, there are discrepancies.

If I activate Divi theme, then update, the link counter reappears correctly.

Then I go back and activate Extra theme (the one I want to use) and then after updating a post they disappear again.

I do want to use the “Extra” theme personally, is this something that can be fixed?

ps: I am contacting Elegant Themes as well in the hope it can be solved.
