link preview image - Support

Hello,

I am having trouble with setting the image to preview with the link of a website. For example if I share my website link to facebook the transparent logo comes up with it. I tried setting OpenGraph Thumbnail in the Global meta settings but that does not seem to change it. Is there a way to set the link preview image? This is for the homepage of my site with no featured image set. Thank you,

Hello,

Thanks for getting back.

You can set the preview image from the social tab of Rank Math’s meta box while editing your page.

However, if the featured image is not set then the og image should be taken from the global settings. Can you please make sure that the image you are trying to set is using the recommended image size? Recommended image size is 1200 x 630 pixels.

Please also check the image file type you are using. The image file type should be one of the following based on OpenGraph standards:
```
image/jpeg 
image/gif 
image/png
```

Thank you so much for your help! It seems to be working just fine now-the global image is coming through.

Quick question: If I upload an image on a specific page using the Rank Math social settings on that page, will that override the global image?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, the global OpnGraph image works as a backup when the image is not found in the posts/pages/CPTs.

If the image is already set in the pages, then they would be given preference and would be displayed when sharing the page on Facebook.
