Rank Math by default lets you add up to 5 focus keywords per post.
You can add the focus keywords in the focus keyword text box, the keywords are separated by comma or enter key.

Do additional keywords impact the search?

The keywords entered on the focus keyword field are used as a pivot for the Rank Math tests and thus adding more keywords would mean that you need to modify/optimize the content for these keywords to maintain your page score.

However, the scores and guidelines are just for your reference, you do not need to follow them religiously.
